The main function of the cylinder gasket is to maintain the sealing effect for a long time and reliably. It must strictly seal the high-temperature and high-pressure gas generated in the cylinder, must seal the cooling water and engine oil with a certain pressure and flow rate that penetrate the cylinder head gasket, and can withstand the corrosion of water, gas and oil.
When the following phenomena are found, it is necessary to consider whether the cylinder is burnt out:
① There is local air leakage at the joint between the cylinder head and the cylinder block, especially near the exhaust pipe opening.
②The water tank bubbled during work. The more bubbles, the more serious the air leakage. However, this phenomenon is often difficult to detect when the cylinder head gasket is not damaged too much. To this end, apply some oil around the joint between the cylinder block and the cylinder head, and then observe whether there are bubbles emerging from the joint. If bubbles appear, the cylinder gasket is leaking. Normally, the cylinder head gasket is not damaged. At this time, the cylinder head gasket can be evenly roasted on the flame. As the asbestos paper expands and recovers after heating, it will no longer leak after being installed on the machine. This repair method can be used repeatedly, thereby prolonging the service life of the cylinder head gasket.
③ The power of the internal engine is reduced. When the cylinder head gasket is seriously damaged, the internal combustion engine cannot start at all.
④If the cylinder head gasket burns out in the middle of the oil passage and the water passage, the oil pressure in the oil passage is greater than the water pressure in the water passage, so the oil will penetrate the water passage from the oil passage through the cylinder head gasket burned out. A layer of motor oil floats on the surface of the water in the tank.
⑤ If the cylinder head gasket burns out at the cylinder port and the cylinder head threaded hole, carbon deposits will occur in the cylinder head bolt hole and on the bolt.
⑥ If the cylinder head gasket burns out somewhere between the cylinder port and the water channel, it is not easy to detect the light one, the power drop is not obvious, and there is no abnormal change under high throttle load. Only at idling speed, due to insufficient compression force and poor tender burn, the exhaust gas will have a small amount of blue smoke. When it is more serious, there will be a “grumbling, grunting” sound in the water tank. However, this is mostly displayed when the water tank is slightly short of water, and it is not obvious when the level sinks. In severe cases, hot air is emitted from the water tank cover during work.
